TODAY’S STORY

God Makes a Way from Exodus 14; 16:11-16; 17:1-7; 19-20; 34:1-9, 29-32

Note to the parents:

Think of some specific rules you have for your child. Are they designed to trick or to protect them? As a loving and wise Father, God gives us rules to protect us.

Help your child recall the story by asking simple questions about what happened.

Examples:

• Did Pharaoh let God’s people go?
• What happened when Moses raised his staff?
• What did God give Moses on top of the mountain?

Together, think about what you have learned. Invite your child to ask you the question. Encourage them to add their thoughts or fill in a blank when prompted.

What did we learn about GOD?

• God loves us and wants to help us.
• He gave His people the Ten Commandments. These are instructions–special rules–to protect us from the danger of sin.

What did we learn about PEOPLE?

• People can show that they love and trust God by choosing to follow His instructions and live God’s way.

What do you want to say to God after reading this story? (Prayer)

Thank You for teaching Your people how to love and obey You.
