Bible App for Kids – Discover God’s Big Story

DAY 16 OF 30

TODAY’S STORY

The First Christmas Gift from Luke 1:26-38; 2:1-20; Matthew 1:18-25

Note to the parents:

Remind your child that a gift or present is something that is given freely. This means that the person receiving it doesn’t have to earn it or pay for it in any way. Instead, it’s given out of love.

Help your child recall the story by asking simple questions about what happened.

Examples:

  • Who told Mary she would have a baby?
  • Where was Jesus born?
  • What did the shepherds do after they met Jesus?

Together, think about what you have learned. Invite your child to ask you the question.
Encourage them to add their thoughts or fill in a blank when prompted.

What did we learn about GOD?

  • God knew we couldn’t fix our sin problem on our own, so He sent Jesus to rescue us from our sins.

What did we learn about PEOPLE?

  • People sin. Sin is anything we think, say, or do that goes against God. Sin hurts us and separates us from God.
  • We need a Savior, someone who can rescue us. That someone is Jesus!

What did we learn about JESUS?

  • Jesus came to be our Savior.
  • Jesus is God's Son, and He loves us so much that He came to the world as a human baby to save us from our sin.

What do you want to say to God after reading this story? (Prayer)

Let's pray together.

God,
Thank You for sending Jesus to help me.
Help me to know and love Him!
(Name ways you can get to know Jesus more.)
Amen.

Build anticipation for tomorrow:

Thanks for sharing today’s story with me! Tomorrow we get to see what happens after Jesus is all grown up.
