Hebrews Part 3: Sleepy ChristianitySample

Is God Center Stage in Your Life?
Most people think worship is something you do for a few minutes on Sunday—but the Bible calls us to something much deeper. Worship isn’t only music; it’s a mindset. It’s about who gets the spotlight in your everyday life. When Jesus finished His work on the cross, He didn’t end worship—He expanded it. Now, our whole life becomes a stage to honor God through our words, actions, and attitude.
This section of Hebrews focuses on ongoing worship as a way of life—one that keeps us healthy and holy “continually.” With the Old Covenant sacrificial system complete through Jesus’ death and Resurrection, worship didn’t stop—it shifted. A Bible commentary explains, “While Christ’s one sacrifice for sin stands for all time, other kinds of sacrifices continue—praise, good works, and obedience (13:15–17).” (1)
When we honor God with our mouths, we’re praising Him instead of ourselves. Speaking well of the Lord keeps our minds fixed on Him, not our fears, frustrations, or enemies—which leads to emotional and mental wellness. We obey this practically by praying and singing to the Lord, whether alone or gathered with others. Singing in church becomes a powerful form of corporate prayer, uniting voices and faith.
Yes, we’re invited to bring our needs to God. But our spiritual and emotional well-being is transformed when we spend more time thanking Him—for who He is, what He’s done, and what we believe He’ll do. That kind of praise will revolutionize your spiritual life and bring lasting health to your soul.
Worship isn’t just about emotion—it’s a decision. When you set your focus on God’s goodness through regular praise and prayer, everything shifts. Worry shrinks. Joy grows. Faith deepens. You weren’t made to just get through life—you were made to glorify God in it. So, open your mouth, raise your voice, and keep your heart locked on the One who’s always worthy.
What’s one simple way you can worship God each day this week?
