Introduction: Jesus Gave with His H.E.A.R.T.
Imagine it’s your birthday. You’re sitting at the table, and someone brings out a cake with your favorite frosting, sprinkles, and candles. You’re so excited to eat it! But then you realize something… what if you didn’t share it? What if you tried to eat the whole cake by yourself? You’d probably get sick pretty quickly.
Life works a lot like that cake. God made us to share. Jesus tells us, “I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full” (John 10:10, NIV). A full life isn’t about keeping everything to ourselves. It’s about giving, just like Jesus did.
The Bible also says, “Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father” (James 1:17, NIV). That means your family, your friends, your food, your toys, and even your breath are gifts from God. But here’s the best part: God doesn’t give us good things so that we can keep them. He gives so that we can give, too!
That’s what the Giving Challenge Kids is all about. We’ll be learning how to give with our H.E.A.R.T.:
- Happily – because God loves a cheerful giver.
- Eternally – because some gifts last forever.
- Abundantly – because God gives more than enough.
- Regularly – because God gives every single day.
- Today – because now is always the best time to give.
Over the next 11 days, we’ll look at how Jesus gives with His H.E.A.R.T. and discover how you can give with yours, too. Giving isn’t just something adults do; it's not dull. It’s exciting, fun, and it changes the world!
Remember! Life is better when it’s shared.
Challenge:
Tell someone you’re starting the Giving Challenge Kids. Ask a parent, sibling, or friend to join you on the journey. Just like cake, this challenge is more fun when you share it!
