You Can Give Happily
Have you ever seen someone do a chore, but they did it with a big, grumpy frown? Maybe they stomped their feet while taking out the trash or sighed loudly while helping. Sure, the job got done, but it didn’t feel very joyful, did it?
That’s what happens when we give with a bad attitude. The Bible tells us, “God loves a cheerful giver” (2 Corinthians 9:7, NIV). That means giving with a smile, not a grumble. It’s not just about what you give—it’s about how you give.
When you give happily, something amazing happens! The Bible says, “A generous person will prosper; whoever refreshes others will be refreshed” (Proverbs 11:25, NIV). It’s like handing someone a cold cup of water on a hot day. They feel good because they’re refreshed—and you feel good because you know you made a difference.
Jesus also taught, “It is more blessed to give than to receive” (Acts 20:35, NIV). That doesn’t mean receiving gifts isn’t fun. It just means that giving brings even greater joy. It’s like a superpower: when you give happily, you spread joy to others and fill yourself with joy at the same time!
You don’t have to wait for Christmas or your birthday to give. You can give every day with your words, your time, your help, or even your smile. The best part? When you give happily, people can see Jesus shining through you.
Challenge:
Pick one person today, maybe a parent, teacher, or friend, and surprise them by giving them something with a happy heart. It could be a chore done with a smile, a kind word, or sharing something you have. Notice how it makes both of you happy!
About this Plan

The Giving Challenge Kids 11-Day Bible Plan helps children learn to live with a generous heart, just like Jesus. Using the H.E.A.R.T. acronym—Happily, Eternally, Abundantly, Regularly, and Today—kids will explore five ways Jesus gives and how they can follow His example. Each day features engaging stories, simple Bible readings, and fun challenges that make generosity easy to practice. As they learn to give with joy, kids will discover that life is richer when it’s shared and that giving blesses both others and themselves.
