Thy Kingdom Come

DAY 6 OF 8

“Our Father… And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven” - restore relationships through forgiveness.

Forgiveness is the heart of the Gospel, but that doesn’t mean a careless attitude to evil or cancellation of justice. Forgiveness is not about obscurity and not about reconciliation at all costs. It’s a deep spiritual posture that starts not with the enemies, but with us – with our hearts before God.

The prayer “Forgive us our debts” is an invitation to live in frankness. It teaches us to live not in self-justification, but to come to God in repentance. It also teaches us not to live in bitterness, as if we constantly carry offense, anger, and hatred inside, we’ll not be able to experience the fullness of God’s grace. Forgiveness is not about denying pain but is a way of not letting pain poison the heart.

Questions to ask yourself:

Is there something today I need to ask God’s forgiveness for? Do I let grace heal my inner wounds, even if nothing changes in the outside situation?

Today God doesn’t demand you to forget but invites you to entrust your pain to Him. He sees your tears, hears your prayers, and accepts you with all that there is. His forgiveness frees not only from guilt, but from the burden of the grudge.

Let these prayers help you to accept forgiveness and to learn to forgive:

•Prayer for your own heart:
Father, help me to build relations with others on the principles of grace and mercy.

•Prayer for your close ones:
Father, let my friends have peace and good relations in their families.

•Prayer for the country:
Father, we ask You about healing our nation. Help us go this road with dignity, truth, and humanity. Teach us to live not in the captivity of hatred, but to hold onto You – God, Who works out justice and brings peace.

•Worship Prayer:
Father, thank You for having forgiven us. And we thank you for the good people You send into our lives.
