Thy Kingdom Come

DAY 2 OF 8

“Our Father… hallowed be your name” – learning to worship the holy God.

When we pray for God’s name to be hallowed, we acknowledge – His name is not a mere set of sounds, but His essence, His glory, and His character. Praying about it means desiring that in our entire life God be acknowledged as holy, great, and worthy of all the glory.

Worship is more than just singing at church. It’s our thoughts, words, the way we respond, and the choices we make. God’s Name is hallowed when God is trusted, loved, and taken into account.

In contrast, sometimes our lives can misrepresent the image of God. If we act cruelly, indifferently, or snobbily, even talking about faith, then His name is disrespected. God looks not for mere right words but wants His holiness to shine through our lives. And that is possible, when we truly admire Him, when His greatness and beauty become the source of our inspiration.

Questions to ask yourself:

Which of my everyday habits praises God’s Name, and which, in contrast, overshadows His glory?

God invites you to not only worship Him with words, but to discover His greatness in your everyday life. Pause. Look at His holiness and let your heart respond with love and awe. He is worthy of being the center of your entire life.

Throughout today, you can call on God in such prayers – or to make up your own, born from praise:

•Prayer for your own heart:
Father, help me to reveal Your Name with my life.

•Prayer for your close ones:
Father, let my friends experience the joy of knowing You.

•Prayer for your country:
Father, let Your Name be praised in the life of our society.

•Worship prayer:
Father, we thank You for revealing Yourself to us and letting us learn Who You are.
