When It Is Difficult to Forgive

DAY 6 OF 7

Day 6: The power of blessing your enemies

When you watch any movie or film, there is always an agenda to get back at the one who hurts others. Modern-day movies usually end with a scene where the victim is blessed, and the perpetrator gets what they deserve. The kingdom of God operates so differently! God’s heart is for everyone, even though He never makes you feel invalid or disregards the pain you may experience because of what someone else has done. There is a secret mystery to be learned for every believer. When we start to bless those who hurt us, it may feel unnatural at first. However, when we keep on blessing them, from the bottom of our hearts, our hearts and emotions are released, and we truly want them to encounter the love of God and be changed, too.

Testimony:
Tom’s neighbor constantly spread lies about him. Instead of retaliating, Tom began praying for his neighbor and even helped him during a time of need. Over time, his neighbor’s heart softened, and their relationship changed. Eventually, Tom could minister to his neighbor about the love of Jesus and he gave his life to the Lord. Now his neighbor has joined the church for the first time!

Prayer:
Lord, teach me to bless those who have wronged me. Give me the strength to respond with kindness and reflect Your love, even when they continue to mistreat me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

About this Plan

When It Is Difficult to Forgive

Do you know you have to forgive, but really struggle to do so? Forgiveness is one of the hardest things God calls us to do. When someone wounds us deeply, everything in us resists letting go. This 7-day journey will walk you through the struggles of forgiveness, the healing power of God’s Word, and the freedom that comes when we surrender our pain to Him.
