When It Is Difficult to ForgiveSample

Day 2: Letting go while feeling the ‘pain’
It really does not help to just ignore when something bad happened to you. It stays in the subconscious, and over time grows into deep resentment. It can even affect your physical health if left unresolved.
Forgiveness doesn’t mean pretending the hurt or painful incident didn’t happen. It simply means that you are releasing the pain or hurt you feel to God. You make a decision to trust Him to bring justice in His time and in His way. I have often seen how a matter comes full circle, even after ten or more years! The awesome truth is that when the person who hurt you chooses to yield to the Lord, He sets them free and they can reconcile with everyone they have hurt, apart from only you , and so bring much glory to the Lord. When this happens, it brings much joy where there may now be pain.
Testimony:
David’s business partner stole from him, leaving him financially devastated, while his business partner continued to prosper. David's family greatly suffered because of this financial loss. He was very depressed and angry. At first, he wanted revenge, but God then reminded him that He is the ultimate Judge. As David released his anger, he found peace, and God later restored him in unexpected ways.
Prayer:
Lord, You see my pain and know my heart. I choose to release my hurt to You, trusting that You will bring healing and justice. Help me not to hold on to resentment but to walk in Your peace. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

About this Plan

Do you know you have to forgive, but really struggle to do so? Forgiveness is one of the hardest things God calls us to do. When someone wounds us deeply, everything in us resists letting go. This 7-day journey will walk you through the struggles of forgiveness, the healing power of God’s Word, and the freedom that comes when we surrender our pain to Him.
