What Is "The Way of Christ?"Sample

The Way of Sacrifice
The apostle Paul finished his race well.
After shipwrecks, beatings, betrayal, prison time, and being abandoned by his team, he still crossed the finish line with his faith intact.
That, my friends, is the blueprint.
Too many men start strong and flame out. I have enough half-finished projects in my garage to prove it.
Good intentions. Big commitments. Zero endurance.
However, The Way of Christ isn’t about one heroic moment; it’s about daily grit. It’s about being a man who keeps showing up when it’s hard, who loves and surprises his wife when he’s not feeling romantic, who mentors his kids or nieces and nephews when work is calling, and who follows Jesus when no one else sees.
Guys, Christ doesn’t call us to easy lives. He calls us to live faithful ones.
And the finish line isn’t retirement, success, or comfort (as much as we obsess about those things); it’s standing before Jesus at the end of however long He gives you on this earth, and hearing the words, “Well done.”
So kill your ego daily so that Christ can be seen more clearly.
As He sacrificed for us, you go and sacrifice for others; serve, wash feet, and when people admire your discipline and courage, glorify God.
This is The Way.
Prayer: Jesus, I want to finish strong! Give me the endurance to run with perseverance. When I’m tired, strengthen me. When I’m tempted to give up, remind me what’s at stake. I want to be faithful. I want to finish well. Amen.
Reflection: Ask yourself: What habits might be distracting you from finishing well? What one step can you take today to realign your race with Christ’s path?

About this Plan

Men are called to "follow" after Jesus. But what exactly does that mean? How does a guy do it, and how does he even know what to do? The Way of Christ is the calling, and we will take this week to explore this Way. Written by Steven Sukkau.
