What Is "The Way of Christ?"Sample

The Way of Brotherhood
When Jesus sent out His disciples, He sent them in pairs.
Why?
Because He knew men need brotherhood. Not just friendship, but a shared mission. We were never meant to walk The Way of Christ solo, as much as us men like to think we’re lone wolves.
In Ecclesiastes 4, Solomon reflects on the tragedy of the isolated man who was working hard, gaining much, but with no one beside him. Real strength isn’t independence, it’s interdependence—the kind forged in foxholes, locker rooms, work crews, or early morning prayer groups.
Every man hits a wall, every man gets weary, but brotherhood means you don’t have to face the hardest parts of life alone. And it’s not just about having someone to lean on when you fall, it’s about sharpening each other daily so you’re less likely to fall in the first place (Proverbs 27:17). Our brothers become the ones who help us through whatever we’re facing, and we do the same for them.
Jesus modelled brotherhood for us. He walked closely with and confided in His Twelve. If He didn’t try to go it alone, why should we?
This is The Way.
Prayer: Father, I thank You for the men You’ve placed in my life. Help me lean into real brotherhood: men who will challenge me, carry me, and walk with me as we follow You. Give me the courage to be vulnerable and the strength to stand with others. Amen.
Reflection: Think about the men in your life. Are you walking in The Way of Christ together, or are you going it alone? Today, reach out to one man and commit to walking in brotherhood through prayer, accountability, or just honest conversation.

About this Plan

Men are called to "follow" after Jesus. But what exactly does that mean? How does a guy do it, and how does he even know what to do? The Way of Christ is the calling, and we will take this week to explore this Way. Written by Steven Sukkau.
