Devotions on F.I.R.E. Year OneSample

Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour (1 Peter 5:8).
Do you understand Satan’s strengths and weaknesses?
Ezekiel makes a transition from "the prince of Tyre" (Ezekiel 28:2) to the "king of Tyre" (Ezekiel 28:12). Satan's origin and expulsion from heaven are given under the latter section. The connecting trait of the two passages is pride. Pride brings the downfall of the earthly king, as it did Satan. The wicked one has limitations; twice Ezekiel refers to him as being "created" (Ezekiel 28:13, 15). For this reason he cannot be everywhere at all times like God. Yet his prowess must not be ignored. Michael, a powerful angel, respects his might. "In contending with the devil," writes Jude, "when he disputed about the body of Moses, dared not bring against him a reviling accusation, but said, "The Lord rebuke you!" (Jude 9).
Employment Point: Rely upon the strength of the Lord to overcome Satan.
