Devotions on F.I.R.E. Year OneSample

Direct my steps by Your word, and let no iniquity have dominion over me (Psalm 119:133).
How confident are you in the integrity of God’s Word?
The psalmist displays an absolute confidence in the Bible. He believes that the same God who guided Abraham, who led the Israelites as a nation and leads us today by His Spirit (Romans 8:14), can give us direction through the Scriptures. He writes, “Your word is very pure; therefore Your servant loves it” (Psalm 119:140). Agur displays a similar view of the Bible. He says, “Every word of God is pure; He is a shield to those who put their trust in Him” (Proverbs 30:5). We can believe without reservation that the Scripture is “given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness” (2 Timothy 3:16). After all, “the entirety of Your word is truth” (Psalm 119:160).
Employment Point: Seek God’s direction through the trusted Word of God.
