The Resurrection Command in God’s Plan

God's Salvation Plan

It was written in the Old Testament. It was explained by the risen Lord.

Stage 1 - The Christ must suffer and rise.

Stage 2 - Repentance and forgiveness must be preached in Christ's name.

A Prayer

God of all time,

We praise you with great joy that everything happened as you said and promised. You are a God of awesome detail to plan salvation through so many thousands of years and people. We stand today as heirs of all your words fulfilled in your one and only Son, Jesus. We too want to continue to see your Spirit clothe your people with power from on high. May repentance and forgiveness of sins be preached in Jesus' name in all nations. Give us eyes to see and ears to hear your global calling. We praise you with joy and awe. Amen.

Journal Exercise

Before the foundation of the world God worked out his salvation plan. Through his prophets he revealed that plan. Luke records how Jesus revealed to the disciples what was written in that plan concerning Christ. Reflect again on God’s grace so that you can express your thanks for what he has done in Christ.

God has also revealed through his prophets that his message must be preached to all nations. It is God’s plan for this to happen - so it will. Write a prayer asking God to do what he has promised.

A Challenging Prayer

In submission to the Lord Jesus Christ and his command to make disciples of all nations, call upon God to multiply the number of well-trained people to proclaim the gospel.
