The Book of Hebrews walks us through what all the Old Testament sacrifices meant. Here, the writer tells us something interesting. He says we can approach God confidently because we have Jesus' blood on the doorpost of our lives. But then he encourages us to keep looking out for one another and gathering together. Why does he say that here?
Well, at least one reason is because journeying and gathering together regularly is one of the ways we make sure we remember what God has done for us. When we make it a habit to get with other believers and sing songs of worship, hear His Word open, talk about life together, and intentionally serve each other, we are reminding ourselves what God has done and encouraging our hearts to keep running after him.
