The key part of this passage is that "they did just as the Lord had commanded Moses and Aaron." God had made a way for the Israelites, but that way required them to do something. They wouldn't be saved by accident. There had to be the choice to do what God said. There wasn't anything magical about lamb's blood. The blood of the lamb was a symbol of a life sacrificed to save them from death.
But the important part was that they acted in faith when they put the blood over the doorpost. The action showed that they trusted God to do what he said, and that's what ultimately mattered.
Think it Over: What might God be leading you to do "in faith"? Maybe it's being a leader for Christ at your school. Maybe it's committing to pray for a lost friend or giving your life to him for the first time. But what is your faith action?
