His Great Sacrifice, Our Great Commission

Day 9 of 10 • This day’s reading

Excerpt: ...And I Sat There by Hazel Hoskins
God, My God, why hast Thou forsaken me?
Groaned Jesus on the tree:
As the thorns crushed His brow
And He writhed in agony.

God, are You there? Do you care?
Alone, forsaken, forgotten
To the Son it seemed to be;
But God was working out His plan
For all eternity.

My God, my God, why hast Thou forsaken me?
I groaned in my despair;
Are you there? Do you care?
I'm asking not for a mighty wind...a vision
A still small voice would do.
But why this silence?
I know I have Your Word
But I long to hear Your voice...
To feel Your touch...
To experience Your love.

God is faithful. His promise always holds strong, no matter the circumstances. God doesn't leave us in silence. He is always present. It is we who need to increase our sensitivity to His voice. He is a real, personal, caring, and compassionate God sustaining and blessing His children with unique callings, visions, blessings, and skills to advance His kingdom.
