Prepare the Way: Passion Students Winter WkndSample

It’s easy to feel like life is on shaky ground. But God offers something firm to stand on in the middle of shaky circumstances. The psalmist says, “those who trust the Lord are like Mount Zion, which cannot be shaken but endures forever.” Relationships will let you down. Friendships will fail. Money won’t last. The screen distracts. The feeling will fade. The promises of sin won’t satisfy. But there is One who is all that He says he is. There’s One who is strong enough to save and sweet enough to satisfy. His name is Jesus. The wind and the waves of the world shout loudly, but Jesus invites us to look to Him. This is the way of walking on water in the middle of a storm. Those who look to Jesus won’t be shaken. Those who build their lives on him build their lives on the rock. Confidence doesn’t come from the strength of our circumstances. Confidence comes from Christ’s work on the cross. In looking here, we see that in every circumstance, “the Lord surrounds his people both now and forevermore.” His love is a firm place to stand.
