So George reaches into the tip jar and takes his dollar back so he can be seen putting it in. But the pizza guy only catches him taking it out, and George gets banned from his favorite pizza joint.

Now, it's important to note that we were made to be noticed. It's good to be seen. So the problem isn't that we are recognized — it's that sometimes, we want to be seen by others rather than God because we want to be praised by them. It's called validation, and it's easy to think it's given on a surface level. Actually, God offers us deep and honest validation, the kind that affirms us in our proudest moments and notices us when we're experiencing tough times.
