A water hose. If it’s not attached to a fire hydrant it’s useless. The purpose of the hose is to put out the fire. How could it put out the fire without the water? And how could the water be put where it’s needed without the hose?
The water would only splash and would also not be useful. Those two are in need of each other. Both can go their own ways, but only together are they strong.
This might sound very poetic and strange in combination with a water hose, but it perfectly fits to this verse. God can do his things and we can do our things. If we start to work together, it is much more powerful.
