DID YOU KNOW EACH DAY IS FULL OF TRANSFORMING POWER?
This entire devotional has dealt with transition and change. I do not know anyone who likes to get out of their comfort zone. I certainly do not!
We go through things in life to transition us to be more Christ-like. God may or may not be the cause of changes, although He sure gets blamed for things that are just a part of living.
One thing I have learned is that daily, God is renewing us.
Paul tells us“Not to be conformed to this world, but [to] be transformed by the renewing of our minds.” Romans 12:2
We humans need transition and change to transform our spirits. "Let the same mind be in you that was in Christ Jesus." Philippians 2:5
Scripture tells us that we are the church! We are the temple of God that houses His Holy Spirit, and it is that Spirit within us that is the power of God at work in our lives! It allows us to be ‘led by the Spirit of God.’ Romans 8:14. This is so important because the scripture doesn’t force us to do anything. God gives us free choice.
When my husband died, I could have remained in the home that he and I shared. God did not care if I moved or stayed. He was only concerned that whatever my choice was, that I included Him in my daily walk. God did not drag me to the bank to get a loan, nor did He shove me into a new church. He allowed me to use wisdom in my choices while gently “leading me!”
1 Corinthians 2:9-11 tells us: "But as it is written, "Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, nor have entered into the heart of man the things which God has prepared for those who love Him.” "
What a beautiful verse of assurance for those of us who fear change and dislike transition!
Will good things always happen to us? Not always. Will some bad things happen? Most likely, however, for those who know God and trust Him, we have His transforming power on our side!!
