Kingdom Reign: For Those Who Hate It Here

DAY 4 OF 6
Day 4: Why Be Kingdom Men and Women?
Kingdom men and women can reap the benefits of the Kingdom of God now in our earthly lives. Even though there is chaos going on all around us, people of the Kingdom can have inner peace to sustain us. It starts of course with accepting Jesus as our Savior, then submitting to God as our King, then following the Holy Spirit’s lead in our everyday lives.
Choosing to become a Kingdom man or woman places us under God’s authority and positions us to receive blessings such as the fruit of the Spirit: love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control (NIV). These blessings are not earned, but they are inherited due to God’s grace and care for His people. That’s why it is so important to be a part of the Kingdom. If we’re not a part of it we miss out on these blessings.
Without these blessings it is very difficult to live a good life in this sin soaked world. The cares of this world will constantly poke at us until we cave in. We have to remain focused on seeking the Kingdom by following the direction the Holy Spirit gives us. The Holy Spirit will drive us to do things that please God and expand His Kingdom to the lives of others. Things like helping our families, giving of our time to serve at our local churches, and being a light for God in our workplaces are all examples of how the Holy Spirit might use us to advance the Kingdom. By seeking God’s Kingdom first, He provides everything else we need.
As Kingdom citizens, God has some work for us to accomplish before it’s time to be fully re-united with Him. To find out what that is specifically for us we need to develop a close relationship with Him.
