Great Adventurers (Week 6)Sample

Day One - Changed For Good
Welcome to our Great Adventurers Devotional - we are so excited to have you following along with us as we journey and look at some of the Great Adventurers in the Bible.
This week we are going to be looking at the Great Adventurer Zacchaeus. He was a tax collector but he took more money from people than he should have. He did some things that were not so good and lots of people did not like him. We are going to learn how Zacchaeus was Changed For Good when he met Jesus!
READ:
A Short Man in the Beginners Bible (pages 413-417) or in Luke 19:1-10.
Zacchaeus had heard all about Jesus. He was so desperate to see Him!
But, Zacchaeus was a short man, which meant he couldn’t see over the crowds of people.
But, because he was so desperate to see Jesus, nothing would stop him!
Zacchaeus climbed a big tree just to get a better look!
ASK:
Have you ever been so desperate to see something that you will do ANYTHING you can to see it!
What did you learn as you were trying to make this happen?
REMEMBER:
‘Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible!”’ (Matthew 19:26)
SAY:
I’m an adventurer,
I am bold, I am strong with the word of the Lord,
I will follow wherever you lead.
I won’t stop, I’ve been set free.
In Jesus name, Amen!

About this Plan

In the Bible, we see that through ‘Great Adventurers’ God has changed the world around them for good. God can take the seemingly bad things and turn them for good. We will follow in the footsteps of these ‘Great Adventurers’ and see how God, through their boldness, changed the world around them! This week we’re looking at the story of Zaccaeus and our memory verse in Matthew 19:26.
