Day Five - God Gives Us Hope Every Day

We are on such an exciting journey with the Fear Busters!  We have learnt so much about how to overcome our fears. Tell us what your favourite part has been so far.

Welcome to the final part of our Fear Busters devotional series! Today we are learning that God gives us hope every day.

READ: 

‘The Lost Sheep’ in the Beginners Bible (pages 391-396)or in Matthew 18:10-14. Jesus told the people that a shepherd will look after his sheep and make sure that they are all safe. God does the same for us!

In our story it says that when one sheep goes missing, the shepherd will go out and look for it. He will look so hard until he finds it and brings it home to safety. Jesus explains how a shepherd will look ‘in the barn, He looks in the stream, He looks in the hills, He looks everywhere!’ He does not give up until he finds his lost sheep! 

Just like the shepherd in the story, God takes care of us and looks after us in the same way. He will never give up or stop caring for us!  When we know that we can look to God for all that we need and that He will take care of us, we have something called HOPE.  

God gives us hope everyday - each new day is full of God’s hope, we know that we can trust God, look for His joy and live in the hope that He gives us every day.  

ASK: 

What hope has God given you today? 

Maybe you could share some of the hope that God has given you with others! Go tell others about the hope that God gives us all every day. 

REMEMBER:

Nehemiah said, “Go and enjoy good food and sweet drinks. Send some to people who have none. Today is a holy day to the Lord. Don’t be sad. The joy of the Lord will make you strong.” (Nehemiah 8:10 ICB)

SAY - FEARBUSTER PRAYER: 

You are bigger than my fears, you wipe away my tears. I have a voice to pray, you teach me what to say. I am brave because of you. This sickness just won't do. We tell it now to QUIT! We've had enough of it.
