Day Three - God’s Way Brings Joy

Hello mini Fear Busters! We hope you're enjoying following our journey with the Fear Busters! We are on such an exciting journey with the Fear Busters!  We have learnt so much about how to overcome our fears. Tell us what your favourite part has been so far.

Welcome to the final week  of our Fear Busters devotional series! Remember you can watch this week's episode on YouTube! Today we are learning that God’s way brings joy.  Did you know, joy is another word for ‘really happy’. What makes you really happy? 

READ: 

‘The Lost Sheep’ in the Beginners Bible (pages 391-396) or in Matthew 18:10-14. Jesus told the people that a shepherd will look after his sheep and make sure that they are all safe. God does the same for us!

In our story we see that Jesus told the people that when we forget about God and do bad things, we are like the sheep that has lost its way.  Because God loves us so much this makes Him sad.  

When the shepherd finds the lost sheep he will carry it back to the flock and tell his friends to come celebrate that he has found his lost sheep - this makes the shepherd really happy. 

Jesus explains to the people that ‘God loves all of his children just like the shepherd loves his sheep’.  

When we remember God’s ways and turn back to Him, it makes God ‘Really Happy’.  He celebrates like the Shepherd who found his lost sheep. 

Sometimes being ‘really happy’ or having joy is easy, when things are going well.  But sometimes being ‘really happy’ or finding joy in our lives can be a struggle when things are hard.  But we can remember that when we find it hard to find joy, God’s way brings joy!

Can you think of some things that bring you joy?

REMEMBER:

Nehemiah said, “Go and enjoy good food and sweet drinks. Send some to people who have none. Today is a holy day to the Lord. Don’t be sad. The joy of the Lord will make you strong.” (Nehemiah 8:10 ICB)

Just like our memory verse says, the joy of the Lord is your strength!  We can remember that God’s way brings joy! 

SAY - FEARBUSTER PRAYER: 

You are bigger than my fears, you wipe away my tears. I have a voice to pray, you teach me what to say. I am brave because of you. This sickness just won't do. We tell it now to QUIT! We've had enough of it.
