6 Biblical Traits Of A Godly Dad

Day 1 of 8 • This day’s reading

Devotional

Congratulations on starting this new YouVersion Bible Reading Plan called Six Biblical Traits of a Godly Dad from Manhood Journey. If you’re like most dads, you are walking around not sure where to start in discipling your child.

This reading plan takes six biblical traits of a godly dad and makes sure you are confident in them—so you can then walk through teaching them to your child. We believe you can be the dad God calls you to be. This reading plan will help.

What we’ll cover in Six Biblical Traits of a Godly Dad Bible Reading Plan:

Since you picked this reading plan, my guess is you’re a dad who wants to intentionally disciple your children. You want them to know God in a personal way, fight temptation and grow up to be strong in the faith. But, dear brothers, that isn’t easy in this world.

In fact, most dads don’t feel like they’re “doing enough” or “don’t know where to start” with their kids. Maybe this is you. You want to do the right thing, but you just feel like you’re missing the mark.

Most dads express this sense of failure and even exasperation. We hear it all the time. Most dads ask questions like this:

  • “I’m unsure where to begin in discipling my child?”

  • “Am I doing enough?”

  • “How do I train my kids well, helping them to lead a life that honors God?”

In this reading plan, we’ll address these questions and much more with the six (6) biblical traits of a godly dad. Here’s what we’ll cover:

  1. The godly dad knows biblical truth.

  2. The godly dad understands biblical biblical purity

  3. The godly dad understands biblical discipline

  4. The godly dad understands biblical manhood.

  5. The godly dad understands biblical leadership.

  6. The godly dad understands biblical mission

So, over the entire reading plan, you’ll get six biblical traits to be sure you know and practice. Then, we’ll give you a tool to help you walk your child through these traits in more detail.

We’re here to help you become the disciple-making dad God calls you to be.
