For this reason, I BUILD  

Every choice matters.

The longer that I follow Jesus, the more that I see this truth at work in my life. The decisions I make today, are building the reality in which I will make decisions tomorrow. Every choice is shaping my future. Day by day, I am adding another layer of history to my life, and that history blurs into my future.

You are building a life.

Right now.

Breath in.

Breath out.

You are building. 

This is not a wasted phase, and it is not an island, untouched by the other phases of your life. Living with intention? Then you are building a life with intention. Living in the moment? Then you are building a life shaped by your impulses.

If each moment has the potential to radically shape the next, then what we need is a good starting point, a firm foundation, to build our lives on. Jesus, and His teaching, are eternal, solid ground. Whatever we build on Him, will have the potential to last into eternity. Though His teaching is sometimes difficult, and sometimes requires that we move at a pace that we are less comfortable with, it is the most stable way to build a life that lasts, a life that matters.

If you build your life on anything else, even though it might seem good, it won’t have the potential to last into eternity. Convenient and easy are not the kinds of building materials that form into a life of substance and depth. And, if you’re going to make it through the storms of life, then you definitely want a life of substance and depth.

You are building a life with every choice you make.

So choose like it matters.
