Jesus washed the disciples’ feet. Feet that were covered in mud, which had traveled miles stepping in things of nature. They weren’t pleasant to smell or look at. Although they were gross, Jesus humbled Himself to become their servant. He has given us the greatest example of serving and calls us to serve others just as He did. Serving people whom we love or admire is easy, but serving those who are annoying and difficult can be a different story. So, when you are serving and it isn’t to the pleasant people, think about Jesus serving us with the ultimate act of giving His life, even when we were at our worst. 

Goal:

God calls us to serve Him and others. How can you better serve others today? Be on the lookout for those who need someone; remember that as you serve, you are serving God.
