“You were not created to live a small life. You were not created to live a safe life. You were created to live a life of faith!”
-Christine Caine, Passion 2019
Scripture says some amazing things about you. One of the most amazing is in Ephesians 2:10: “You are God's handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for you to do.”
You are God’s very craftsmanship! He has prepared work -- good work -- for you to do! You were not created to live a mundane, small, safe life. You were created to live a vibrant life of faith, walking in step with the plans and purposes of Jesus! What greater affirmation of worth or purpose could we need?
Some of us meet that call with excitement, others want to shrink back. We start filling our mind with lies that we aren’t smart enough, spiritual enough, or strong enough. We start asking “what if questions” that paralyze us. “What if God takes away this or that or calls me to go here or there?”
The truth is, God doesn’t need anything from you, He wants something for you. His dreams and plans for your life are far bigger than you can imagine. As a child of God you have been given and equipped with everything you need. Our confidence is in Him, not our own abilities. In fact, our very gifts and talents are designed and given by Him. What God wants is for us is to be people of faith -- People who trust Him in the storms and the sun. People who are willing to follow Him anywhere.
We echo the cry of the apostles, “Lord, “Increase our faith!” (Luke 17:5) Let’s stop trying to impress the world and start amazing God with our faith. There is nothing to fear. Jesus goes before us and leads us into His finished plans. So, how is God calling you to take a step of faith today? What do you need to surrender to Him in order to walk fully in faith?
