Read To Hear : Book Of GenesisSample

Jacob wrestles with God
Then the man said, “Your name will no longer be Jacob, but Israel,[a]because you have struggled with God and with humans and have overcome.” (Genesis 32:28)
Even though the fear of having to face Esau emerged again as he decided to return to his father’s place, Jacob remained obedient and followed God’s command. As he went on his way, Jacob struggled with God and eventually he was given a new name, Israel. In order to experience change, we need to learn to listen and follow God’s voice and take care of long unresolved conflicts. Just like Jacob whose life was going well and was blessed by God, he had unresolved conflicts with Esau. Jacob was changed into Israel, only when he stepped outside of his comfort zone and obeyed God who intended to work on his life.
