Microwave Generation

We read in the Bible about Ruth, who clung to her mother-in-law when she lost her husband, instead of going back to her parents. She sought the living God of Naomi saying, “Your God is my God.” When she could have started a new life back at her parents’ place, Ruth chose to stay with her mother-in-law and waited patiently for the Lord to work in her. What happened? The blessings of Boaz came on Ruth. He blessed her saying, “May the Lord repay your work, and a full reward be given to you by the Lord God of Israel, under whose wings you have come for refuge.” Then Boaz married her and once again her broken family life was built and what a great blessing it is that her name is recorded in the genealogy of our Lord Jesus Christ! What a blessed life!

As we all know, this is a microwave generation – people only want instant things, instant coffee, fast food etc. In today’s world, everything has to be fast and so we expect God also to be fast. But my beloved friend, He is a God of patience. He does the right things at the right time. We saw how Ruth patiently received her blessings. Today, I urge you to wait on the Lord patiently. He will work wonders in your life. He will do things beyond what you can imagine.

Prayer

“Lord God, You are a God of patience who does things at the right time. Lord, I pray for this patience to abide in me too. Like Ruth and the others who patiently waited to receive Your blessing let me too wait on You. I believe that at the right time, You will do the very best for me, Amen.”

Blessing For Today

Every day we must know the plans that the Lord has kept in store for our lives. The Lord has given us His word to reveal His plans to us. He reveals His plans through the word of God as we read it with reverence and prayer. When we hear His voice through our meditation of His word our hearts will burn like fire filled with joy (Psalm 39:3). Then as we follow it with proclamation of those words through the power of the Holy Spirit through our prayer, the blessings of that day will come upon us. Not only the blessings, but the grace of God shall come upon us to carry out that day’s work.  We have compiled the Bible passage for you to read as well as the Lord’s revelation for each day. We pray that through this the Lord may give you the grace to be connected to Him throughout this year.
