Resist Evil

Joseph was a young man who communed with the Lord daily and lived a holy life amidst all his trials, temptation and weariness. Once he had to face a very grave temptation. He was enticed by his master’s wife to commit sin. He could have easily risen to a high position if he had yielded to the temptation of leading a sinful life of lust with his master’s wife. But he said, “How can I do this great wickedness and sin against God? The Lord is watching me. If I commit sin, the path that connects me and my Lord will be hidden. So, I will not yield to this sin.”

A man once said, “We can never prevent the crow from flying over our head; but we can definitely prevent it from sitting on our head.” In the same way, my friend you can never prevent the evil thoughts and sinful lusts that encircle you in this world. But you can prevent them from taking root into your life by not allowing them to get into your mind. This is possible only when you are filled with the Holy Spirit. He will help you to resist the power of the devil and the sin that hinders you, and to move forward victoriously. Today ask Him to fill you with His mighty Holy Spirit. When He is with you, you will prosper in whatever you do.

Prayer

“O Lord on high, I have weaknesses that draw me to sin. But I want Your Holy Spirit to help me in my weakness and lead me in Your holy path, for only with the Spirit of God can I overcome these evil thoughts. Guide me in the right path O Lord! This I pray in Jesus’ name, Amen.”

‘Push behind your weakness and rise to the next level’

Blessing For Today

Every day we must know the plans that the Lord has kept in store for our lives. The Lord has given us His word to reveal His plans to us. He reveals His plans through the word of God as we read it with reverence and prayer. When we hear His voice through our meditation of His word our hearts will burn like fire filled with joy (Psalm 39:3). Then as we follow it with proclamation of those words through the power of the Holy Spirit through our prayer, the blessings of that day will come upon us. Not only the blessings, but the grace of God shall come upon us to carry out that day’s work.  We have compiled the Bible passage for you to read as well as the Lord’s revelation for each day. We pray that through this the Lord may give you the grace to be connected to Him throughout this year.
