Turn Back
There lived a commander of the American army named George Washington. He led the American army that battled with the British army for their country to be declared as an independent nation. The British army closely followed him in order to capture him. He along with a few soldiers galloped swiftly on horseback and stood before the Potomac River that was frozen, with the British army behind them. Falling into that river meant he would freeze to death. However, he knelt down on the river bank and offered a prayer, “Lord! We are battling for this nation to worship You with freedom. It must be a nation that follows You. I want to save my life; I must reach the other side of this river.” After saying this prayer, he jumped into the river. The British army, which rushed there, retreated upon seeing the river but Washington swam and reached the other side. By the power of God, his life was saved. He once again knelt down in the same place hoisted a flag and declared America as a nation for God. It is in this very place that “Washington DC” the capital city of America stands today.
My friend, the Lord exalts those who are thankful to Him. If you have forgotten the mercies and goodness the Lord has shown to you, remember them today and be thankful to Him.
Prayer
“Merciful Father, I remember every good deed You have shown me. I am all grateful for Your mercy which is upon me. Let Your Holy Spirit be a reminder of Your goodness in my life. I give all glory, honor and praise to You alone. Amen.”

Every day we must know the plans that the Lord has kept in store for our lives. The Lord has given us His word to reveal His plans to us. He reveals His plans through the word of God as we read it with reverence and prayer. When we hear His voice through our meditation of His word our hearts will burn like fire filled with joy (Psalm 39:3). Then as we follow it with proclamation of those words through the power of the Holy Spirit through our prayer, the blessings of that day will come upon us. Not only the blessings, but the grace of God shall come upon us to carry out that day’s work. We have compiled the Bible passage for you to read as well as the Lord’s revelation for each day. We pray that through this the Lord may give you the grace to be connected to Him throughout this year.
