A few years ago, during one of the national festivals, the President of a particular country decided to pardon two condemned prisoners. These two prisoners were in two different jails. When one man got the letter of pardon, he was overjoyed and happily accepted that letter and went away as free man. But the other prisoner who got the same letter was very disappointed. When he saw the letter he said, “I do not believe this. Many orders come every day and this is not going to make any difference.” He did not believe what was in his hands. And at last, he refused to accept the pardon and said, “Go ahead and kill me.” Even after much persuasion he refused to accept it. Unfortunately, he died without realizing that his freedom was in his hands. 

My friend, even today many of you are in the same condition. You have hardened your hearts not to listen to the word of God. Open your eyes and see the miracles happening around you. Open your ears and listen to the praises of God. Open your heart to the word of God. In today’s world, freedom is what all seek for. My beloved true freedom comes from the word of God. Yes, it is the truth that will set you free. Freedom is in your hands. Will you not take it today? 

Prayer

“Loving Father, I have listened to many sermons but I have become lethargic to Your word. I believe that You have spoken to me today through this word. Help me to listen to Your word and set me free, Amen.”
