The story of Christmas is about the goodness of God. God had planned the story of Christmas when man sinned in the garden of Eden. God created man in His own image to have a relationship with Him. God made man and gave him the choice to obey and be in a relationship with Him or disobey and live separate from God. Man chose the later when he disobeyed God and ate from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.
In the garden of Eden, the devil seemed to have overcome God’s plan. The story of Christmas is the beginning of God giving man a chance to reconcile and make amends with Him without the law, including the bloodshed the Mosaic law demanded.
Today we have the same choice. We can accept the death of Jesus whose birth is the story of Christmas and have eternal life (the purpose with which God created man) or we can reject his goodness and have eternal death in hell (man’s choice when he sinned in the garden of Eden).
Thought for today:
Have I accepted the goodness of God in my life?
