God invented and created the stars I hope your day is going better than Wednesday, September 16, 1992. In Britain they call it Black Wednesday because on that day the government uncoupled the British pound from the European Exchange Rate Mechanism and let its value float. In one horrible day, the pound lost 15% of its value. Is there anything crashing in your life? Get outside tonight and look up. It was on a Wednesday that God invented and created the stars. “And God said, ‘Let there be lights in the expanse of the sky to separate the day from the night, and let them serve as signs to mark seasons and days and years, and let them be lights in the expanse of the sky to give light on the earth.’ And it was so. God made two great lights--the greater light to govern the day and the lesser light to govern the night. He also made the stars. And there was evening, and there was morning--the fourth day” (Genesis 1:14-19). Each one of those little “twinklers” up there is a gigantic gas ball of flaming plasma. There are billions of them! If God would expend all that energy just to give you beauty in your night sky, certainly he cares about your Wednesday troubles.
