Who Is God: Devotions From Time of GraceSample
On the cross Jesus Christ succeeded
How are you holding up? Are there some problems pressing down on you? Is there anything in your life unraveling?
Look back to what started out as a horrible Friday, the day on which Jesus Christ was crucified. Satan was rejoicing at all the cruelty, injustice, suffering, hatred, and blood. But on the cross, Jesus Christ succeeded in paying off our spiritual debts, ended Satan’s authority over us, and won a “not guilty” verdict from the Judge of the world. Jesus entered the grave as a winner, not a loser, and three days later emerged alive again. “He entrusted himself to him who judges justly. He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; by his wounds you have been healed” (1 Peter 2:23,24).
When your days get overwhelming, look back to the Friday we call “Good” and find satisfaction in knowing that you are worth that much to God.
