The Rope of Trust 

These days, people are disappointed in their lives and some have even become mentally deranged because they have been let down by their close friends. You would have even seen times when the most trustworthy person in your life stabbed you in the back. Yes, these are days when everybody asks, “Whom to trust?” 

There was a little boy who suddenly fell into a dark dry well while playing. He cried out for help. The villagers heard his voice, dropped a rope and asked him to hold on to the rope. But the boy said, “Sir! Is my father at the other end of the rope? I will hold the rope only if my father holds on to the other end of it. I can trust only him!” They immediately went in search of his father and brought him. The father called out to his son saying, “Son! I am here at the other end of the rope! Hold on to it and I will pull you out.” The boy was filled with peace and joy. He held the rope tightly and was pulled out of the well. 

What an amazing trust this little boy had on his father! He was not confident in the strength of others, but when he heard his father’s voice, he said to himself, “My father surely won’t let me down!” Beloved, place this kind of trust on Jesus. He will never let you down. Amidst all your problems, trust Him completely. He will bring you out of every trouble. 

Prayer

“Loving heavenly Father, I put all my trust in You. I cry out to You from the pit of troubles. Deliver me out of all my troubles. I believe that You will never let me down. Help me to see days filled with joy and peace. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.
