In God We Trust 

A fox was so proud of its wisdom, and was boasting to a cat of its exploits like this, “I have a basket full of tricks. So I have a solution to every problem that confronts me. Especially, when someone attacks me I know a hundred ways to escape.” The fox felt proud when the poor cat said it knew just one trick. Just then a pack of hounds came racing towards them. At once the cat perched on the highest branch of a tree, looked down on the fox below and said, “This is the only trick I know. Now let me see by how you escape.” The fox, since it had a basket full of tricks, was considering which of those could be put to use in that situation. Finally, it decided to run for its life. But it was too late. The hounds pounced upon it and tore it to pieces. 

Overconfidence is dangerous. Overconfident people boast saying, “I can manage all my affairs. I have enough wisdom to know everything. I have no need for God in my life.” As long as everything goes well, their supreme arrogance will reign. But when problems suddenly strike, like those fierce hounds, they fall prey to the consequences of arrogance. Friend, put all your trust on God. Depend on Him for your every breath of life. No evil can destroy you. You will stay calm and peaceful. 

Prayer

“Loving Father, I come before You with a thankful heart for my education, money, parents and friends. You are the giver of good gifts. If any overconfidence or displaced trust is hidden in me, I renounce them and cast them out in Jesus’ name. I will stay blessed by keeping my trust in You Lord. Amen.”
