Halt and Proceed 

A 95-year-old beloved mother, who hailed from Norway, lived in India for many years. At that time, she narrated certain incidents from her life, to me. One Sunday night, after she had conducted a worship service, she was getting into her car to drive back home. The pastor of the Church came running to her and said with great anxiety, “Please do not drive on that road that goes under that bridge. It is pitch dark there. There are many pot holes, ups and downs. Please do take the other road.” But, while driving the car while she was deep in conversation, she drove on the same road, which the pastor had warned her about. The vehicle which was running smoothly till then suddenly stopped at a particular spot. The engine did not start again, inspite of her efforts. She got down to check the engine. It was only then that she noticed, that one metre away, there was a well at ground level, without a wall around it. If they had one metre further down, they would have fallen head long into that well and died. But the Lord saved them. Truly, the Lord had preserved her going out and her coming in! 

Sometimes, what appears to our natural mind as bad, works out for our own good. God’s wisdom and protection are timely and marvellous. Thank Him for everything as you entrust your life into His hands. He is your protector! He is on duty throughout day and night to preserve you. 

Prayer

“Loving Father, I thank You for You are the keeper of my soul. Thank You for keeping me safe till now. I know You are my Protector. Thank You for Your hands that are around me. Thank You for Your guardian angels who surround me. I still lean on You for my protection. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.”
