DAY 5 OF 7

Day 5: Strength in Weakness

  • Key Passage: Judges 6:14

Gideon’s Lesson on Rest

Gideon was hiding in a winepress, full of fear and feeling like a failure. But God met him there and called him a "mighty hero." God didn't wait for Gideon to get his act together before offering him strength. He met Gideon in his weakness.

We often think we have to be "strong" to be useful to God. This "faking it" is one of the most exhausting things we do. Rest comes when we finally admit, "Lord, I don't have what it takes." When we stop trying to be strong, we stop the performance. Like Gideon, we find that God’s strength is best seen when we are at our weakest. You can rest today because God isn't looking for your strength; He's looking for your availability.

  • Call to Action: Be honest with one trusted person today about a struggle you’re facing. Stop pretending you have it all together and see how much lighter you feel.
  • Reflection Questions:
    1. Why is it so exhausting to pretend we are stronger than we actually are?
    2. How can admitting your weakness actually lead you to a place of rest?

About this Plan

Fresh Start

This 7-day plan helps you move from pressure and striving into the deep rest God offers in Christ. Through Hebrews 4 and other key passages, you will see that real rest is not laziness or escape, but trust in God’s finished work. Each day will help you identify what steals your peace, face the unbelief behind restlessness, and practice a quieter, more rooted life with Jesus. If you feel tired in body, mind, or soul, this plan will guide you toward the rest only God can give.
