Prayers for the Broken

DAY 5 OF 5

God, Reassure Me

Sometimes life is not just one big crisis. It’s more like the everyday weight of it all. The car needs new tires and then the dishwasher is making that sound again. Your kid needs something for school tomorrow that you’re hearing about tonight. Perhaps there is nothing catastrophic happening at this moment, but there sure is a lot of heavy, all at once. In the middle of it, you start to wonder: Is God paying attention to this, or is this too small to pray about?

I’ve caught myself thinking that. Like God is only available for the real emergencies and everything else is mine to deal with.

In Matthew 6:34, Jesus said something so practical it almost doesn’t sound spiritual: don’t worry about tomorrow. Today has enough on its plate. He didn’t say “don’t worry about the big stuff.” He said tomorrow. The ordinary, nothing-dramatic tomorrow that still keeps you up at night. You don't even know for sure what will happen in a day, so why are you letting it keep you up at night? We're human.

God, reassure me is a prayer for the Tuesday afternoon when nothing is wrong, but nothing feels right either. It’s asking God to remind you He’s present in the mundane, not just the emergencies.

God doesn’t rank your problems by severity. I'm really thankful He can handle a brain dump. He just says: Bring it to Me. Today’s trouble is enough. Let Me handle tomorrow.

Friend, He's still got the whole world in His hands. That includes you.

Soul Care Moment

Name one small, ordinary thing that’s been weighing on you. Hand it to God before you size it up, but because nothing is too small for Him.

Pray With Me

God, I can’t see Your work in this situation, and I’m tempted to ask if You need my help. Lead me to remember that You see me for who You called me to be. Open my eyes to see You for Who You are: the God of the universe, Who calls me His child. Amen.

Truth to Carry

God is not categorizing your prayers; He's simply listening because He cares for you.
