Prayers for the BrokenSample

God, See Me.
There was a season in my life when caregiving swallowed my whole world. The constant need to care for my daughter, who depended on me for everything, enveloped me.
Days passed without leaving the house. Sometimes I couldn’t tell you what was happening in the world outside my front door. I barely recognized myself in the mirror, but it didn't seem like others noticed.
When you feel invisible, it’s hard to believe anyone is paying attention. Then you start to believe that even God isn't paying attention.
But today's passage brings me so much to remember that His eyes are on me. They are on you. He doesn't just glance our direction on occasion. He's not checking in just in case things get really bad. His eyes are ON us. He sees the sparrow and the lilies of the field.
He not only sees, but also listens for your cry.
For many years, as our family tried to cope with my daughter's seizures, I practically slept with my eyes open. I was a listening mama with an ear for every potential odd breath that might come from her room. To think that God listens with more intention than I ever did is mind-blowing.
Friend, He hears your whispered prayers from the bathroom floor. Those tears you didn't want anyone to see in the car? He saw them. When you have no words to describe the exhaustion setting in, yet you mustered "Jesus." He heard you. He hears it all. You don’t need a megaphone or a microphone to grab His attention. I'm so glad.
It could be one word or it could be as simple as three words: God, see me. That’s a real prayer that He answers. The beauty is that He's answered it before you even ask.
Soul Care Moment
Whisper it right now: God, see me. Be assured that His eyes are on you and He's never turning away.
Pray With Me
God, help me to trust that You see me. Thank you for being in control and for never leaving me alone. I trust you as my Creator; be my 9-1-1 Operator and Guide. Open my eyes to see Your preparation and provision in this present wilderness. Amen.
Truth to Carry
You are seen by the God whose eyes never turn away from you.
