Prayers for the BrokenSample

God, Heal Me
Have you ever heard that time heals all wounds? Somebody made that up and I'm guessing they meant well. But time doesn’t heal all wounds. Only God can do that. What time does it allow the slow, painful work of letting God into the places that hurt the most?
Brokenness rewires your normal. You wake up off just by waking up. You sometimes feel weird if you laugh. Healing often doesn’t look the way we think it should. I wish it were a straight line from broken to better. It's more like the worst zigzagged road you've ever experienced. You sometimes forget the simplest things. I know this thing for sure: God doesn't tell us we have to wait until heaven for EVERY healing. There are some healings we do wait for. But not all of them.
In today's passage, Jeremiah 30:17, God is making a declaration: I will restore you to health and heal your wounds.
There is nothing here about pulling ourselves up by the bootstraps or healing ourselves. Nothing about the right amount of time to pass.
God takes personal responsibility for your healing. But we have to let God into the brokenness instead of just surviving it.
We have to trust that the God who allowed the wound is also the God who can heal it.
God, heal me. It’s a brave prayer. It’s asking God to do what you can’t do for yourself.
Soul Care Moment
What wound have you been carrying that you haven’t invited God into? You don’t have to deal with all of it today. Just whisper: God, heal me here.
Pray With Me
God, I need Your divine hand of healing, whatever You choose for that to look like. Redefine my understanding of wholeness and restore my reliance on You. Preserve my life, protect my spirit, and prevent the pain from overwhelming me. For in Your love and protection, there is freedom. Touch me as only You can. Amen.
Truth to Carry
The God who allowed your wound is more than capable of healing it.
