Catch Me!
As a kid, I loved playing chasey. The thrill of running flat out, heart pounding, fear coursing through my mind – we ran away like our life depended on it. The goal was simple – don’t get caught. But here’s the funny thing: the best part of the game always ended up being when someone did catch me. That moment of being grabbed meant that the fear was replaced with relief, laughter and pure joy.
Some days, I think faith feels a bit like that. We run hard – chasing success, approval, even purpose – telling ourselves we’ll stop when we’re ‘good enough’. Deep down, though, we’re weary. And just like in that childhood game, the real joy isn’t in outrunning the One who’s after us. It’s in being caught.
That’s what salvation is: not our race toward God, but His pursuit of us. Jesus didn’t wait for us to reach Him – He came running to meet us. He took our striving and our shame, and in His arms we finally find rest, relief and pure, pure joy.
Grace is being caught – and discovering that the One who catches us doesn’t condemn but embraces.
So maybe today is a good day to stop running. Let Him catch you. There’s freedom there, and joy, and a love that won’t let go.
Prayer: Jesus, thank You for chasing me down with grace. I’m done running. Catch me again today and remind me that joy is found in Your arms. Amen.

About this Plan

“The gift of salvation is the greatest gift any of us could ever receive. There are no earthly riches that are greater.
