An Eternal Gift

When I first started hearing about Jesus, I regularly heard that God had great things in store for me and He had great gifts for me. I didn’t fully understand that, but as I started to explore Jesus for myself, I started to learn that God is abundantly generous and that He does, in fact, want to give us good things. There are many gifts that God through the Holy Spirit extends to us. But there’s one that’s greater than every other we could ever receive, and that’s the gift of salvation through Jesus Christ. God looked at us, His beloved creation, and determined that we needed a way to be reconciled with His heart so, in the greatest act of love ever known, He sent His one and only Son, Jesus, to die on the Cross as an atonement for our sins. This sacrifice created a way for us to reconcile with our heavenly Father and spend eternity with Him. Jesus took up our sin and shame. In exchange, we’re offered the gift of salvation. A free, eternal gift that no one could earn or purchase.

The gift of salvation is the greatest gift any of us could ever receive. There are no earthly riches that are greater. An eternity with God the Father, Jesus the Son, and the Holy Spirit far exceeds anything we could want or imagine. And this beautiful gift of salvation is extended to you today. You just need to receive it. By acknowledging our sin, seeking repentance, and recognising we need Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour, we can all have this gift of salvation.
