Song of HeavenSample

Hark! The Herald Angels Sing
We have seen His glory. The Word became flesh. Two opposing portrayals of Christ which create a stark comparison between him being both God and man. “Flesh” reminds us of the crude form in which He came, stressing the reality of His humanity. “Glory” is a term long associated with signifying the presence of God.
In the time of the Israelites, the Lord had made His dwelling among them in the tabernacle, the tent of meeting. This is where His glory was found and the place where the Lord resided. To go near the dwelling was to go near to God. John makes the startling remark that the dwelling of the Lord was no longer in the tabernacle but in Christ Himself. We have seen His glory, the presence of God in Jesus. We thank God today that He would dwell and have His presence among us.
