The Divine Exchange: Trading Your Plans for God’s Purpose

DAY 2 OF 30

Anointed From Birth

My story began long before there were business plans, spreadsheets, or publishing deadlines. I was twelve, standing in a prayer line in a small Pentecostal church in Embu, Kenya—the kind where the choir sang slightly ahead of the drummer and the preacher’s microphone occasionally crackled like fire from Heaven.

A visiting minister pointed his hand towards me and declared with great conviction, “You will preach to the nations and train pastors.”

I opened one eye, just to confirm he wasn’t pointing at someone behind me. Surely, this word had taken a wrong address. Me? I was a business girl through and through—born into a trading family, raised to balance profit and purpose. My dream was to one day own The Bullion Bank—not to stand behind a pulpit.

I smiled politely, said my “Amen,” and filed that prophecy away like an unopened email. Life moved on. School. Career. Success. I thought I had moved beyond that moment, but Heaven had not. Years later, when God began redirecting my path, I realised He had been quietly working behind the scenes—watering a seed I had forgotten I was carrying.

Lesson
Sometimes God plants a prophecy that feels wildly out of place in the soil of your current season. But in time, that seed will burst through the ground, proving that He saw your future long before you even knew you had one. What feels random today may just be the confirmation of what Heaven decreed years ago. You are not an afterthought—you’re a prophecy in progress.
