DAY 14 OF 29

Day 14: Peace in Christ’s Reign

  • Verses:
    • Isaiah 9:7: "Of the greatness of his government and peace there will be no end."
    • Psalm 29:11: "The Lord gives strength to his people; the Lord blesses his people with peace."
    • Zechariah 9:10: "He will proclaim peace to the nations. His rule will extend from sea to sea."
    • Hebrews 13:20–21: "Now may the God of peace... equip you with everything good for doing his will."
    • Luke 1:79: "To guide our feet into the path of peace."
  • Reflection:

Christ’s eternal reign ushers in a peace that transforms hearts and nations. His government, as Isaiah prophesies, brings an unending peace that strengthens and equips us. Advent points us to this future where His rule extends globally, guiding us into paths of peace. This hope inspires us to live as ambassadors of His kingdom, spreading His peace through our works and words. This week, let’s allow Christ’s reign to begin in our hearts, fostering peace that radiates outward.

  • Application:
    • How can you reflect Christ’s peace in your daily interactions? Today, take one action that promotes peace, such as mediating a conflict or serving a community need.
    • Reflect on how Christ’s reign shapes your perspective.
    • Share this vision of peace with someone, perhaps through a conversation about His kingdom, encouraging them to seek His transformative peace in their own life.
  • Prayer:

Lord, let Your reign of peace begin in my heart and spread to the world. In Jesus' name. Amen.

About this Plan

What the Bible Says About Advent - 29 Days of Advent Meditations

These 29 daily devotionals, created by Dr. Walt Larimore, are structured around the four traditional pre-Christmas Advent candles—Hope, Peace, Joy, and Love and one final devotion for the penultimate Christ candle. Each of the first four weeks focuses on one candle, with seven daily devotions exploring a specific aspect of that theme through Bible verses, a reflection, and a prayer prompt—then, of course, the final Christmas Eve or Christmas Day devotion. All Bible verses are quoted from the NIV, 2011.
