Devotions on F.I.R.E. Year Two

DAY 344 OF 365

Behold, the Judge is standing at the door! (James 5:9 NKJV).

Are you ready to meet the Judge?

In today’s reading, Hosea warned Israel to return to God before judgment fell. The Revelation of Jesus Christ depicts Jesus in Revelation 1:13 (NKJV) as “in the midst of the seven lampstands” (the seven churches in Revelation 2–3), evaluating each one. Our Lord, who has eyes like a flame of fire, scrutinizes each church and renders a decision based upon His omniscient assessment of their works!

In the days ahead, we will read about John’s vision of the future and Jesus’ judgments on mankind. My question for you today is: Are you ready to meet Jesus face-to-face? Are there areas of your life that need to change? His judgment is not meant to harm but to refine and restore. What would He say about your heart today?

Take time to evaluate your life. Repent of anything that doesn’t honor Him and commit to living fully for Jesus.

Employment Point: Prepare to meet the Judge through purity of life accompanied by righteous deeds.

About this Plan

Devotions on F.I.R.E. Year Two

Devotions on F.I.R.E. journeys through the Bible in one year. Each day includes a devotion based on Dr. Burge’s F.I.R.E. method of Bible Study. F.I.R.E. stands for Familiarity, Interpretation, Relationship, and Employment. The F.I.R.E. method and the daily devotions help readers remember and apply what they read as they fuel the fire in their hearts for God’s Word—adapted from the book Devotions on F.I.R.E. Year Two, by Dr. Ken J. Burge, Sr.
